Welcome to the website of the Polish American Pulaski Association, Inc. in sunny Holiday, Florida. The club was founded in 1978. The club offers bingo on Mondays at 11 am and Tuesdays at 5 pm. Sunday dinners are served from 1:30 pm to 3 pm (no Sunday dinners during June, July & August) followed by dancing to top Polish/American bands until 6 pm. Friday dinners are held year-round from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm followed by American-style dancing until 8:30 pm. Also appearing at the club are some of the top polka bands from around the country. Special events are held regularly on Saturdays and the hall is available for rentals. You do not have to be of Polish descent to join our fine club. I encourage you to browse our website and see for yourself our fine facilities and activities.
Greetings and welcome to all as we gear up for the 2016-2017 season. Sunday's club will start up on Sunday, October 16th. During the summer, as promised, work around the club continued. Our kitchen facility was put in tip-top shape. We had many appliance situations arise and they were addressed. We continued Friday night Dinner and Dancing throughout the summer and attendance was good. Some Fridays were better than others but, in all, we were okay. Our Independence Day Picnic was a huge success with 185 members and guests enjoying the afternoon. Our cook, Tom, retired and we are happy to welcome Nina Hnat as the new cook. She has made many improvements in the menu and the operation of the kitchen. Nina makes everything possible from scratch. We thank Tom for his many years of work.
We lost many good members this year, including John Leszczynski who always supported the club in so many ways. We ended our membership year with 601 members, a few members short of last year's total. Once again we signed up new members. We are very happy to welcome old and new members and appeal to ALL MEMBERS to attend as many functions as possible. Some members we see once or twice a year and some we only see when the bands from up north appear.
This is a big building with big bills and you, the member, need to support it. We ask our band members who play here to come out now and then to a function, not only when you appear on stage but other events. We also welcome back the clubs that meet here: German/American Social Club of New Port Richey, Polish Legion of American Veterans #184, and the UAW West Coast Retiree's. Also this season, the Suncoast Polka Pals Club will be hosting once a month Saturday night Slovenian (Cleveland Style) polka dances starting in January 2017.
Bands from UP NORTH so far are: John Stevens and DOUBLESHOT, MOLLIE B (twice), EDDIE FORMAN Orchestra and we are talking with John Gora and GORALE and BOX ON along with POLKA FAMILY. With Vero Beach Polish Club not hosting weekly dances, we are the only club that is doing so. And don't forget JERSEY POLKA RITCHIE will be with us again. The December bulletin will have all the information.
I want to thank our Bingo group under the direction of Naomi Santiago for running the best bingo in Pasco County and our dedicated kitchen people who always do a great job along with our door people, raffle people and bar folks. Thanks for your time and effort. Let's all strive to make this new season a good one. Welcome back to our snowbirds and your office corps looks foward to seeing everyone back at the club.
Ernie Stetz (Stec), President
